    WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2025

Join us on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:45 AM for an OHAO Special Meeting to approve the Accountant for 2025/2026 and proposed minor revisions to the OHAO bylaws followed by a members only webinar - Total Worker Health with Deborah Nelson, MPH, PhD, CIH, FAIHA.

Special Meeting: The purpose of the special meeting will be to approve the accountant for 2025/26 as we were not able to do that at the 2025 AGM and to approve minor proposed revisions for clarity to the OHAO bylaws. Click here to review the proposed bylaw updates. Click here for the proxy form and special meeting agenda. Proxies are due before end of day Tuesday, December 9.

Members Only Webinar:  OHAO is proud to present this special members only webinar:

From TWH to Total Community Health: Exploring ideas to further improve worker health, safety, and well-being

Integration of injury and illness protection programs with programs designed to improve worker health and safety, along with recognition of factors that arise from outside the workplace, are not new ideas, having been suggested by the World Health Organization in the early 1980s.  Perhaps the best-known approach to putting these concepts into practice is the US NIOSH Total Worker Health® approach, which is described as “policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with promotion of injury and illness prevention efforts to advance worker well-being “. This presentation will discuss the fundamental concepts of TWH, provide practical examples, and illustrate the importance of employee engagement. We will explore worker health, safety, and well-being within the context of Total Community Health, and briefly examine community strengthening practices which can improve community health and well-being, and potentially lead to improved worker health, safety, and well-being.

Speaker: Deborah Imel Nelson, MPH, PhD, CIH, FAIHA

Deborah Imel Nelson, PhD, CIH, FAIHA, earned her B.S.in Environmental Science and M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering, in Norman, Oklahoma, and her Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) and Ph.D. in Environmental Health from the Hudson College of Public Health. She was certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene (1981 – 2025) and is a Fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

The OHAO Education Package is back for 2026!

    WHAT IS IT:

The Education Package includes your annual membership fee ($80) and registration fees for both the Spring (Virtual only - $125) and Fall (Hybrid - $250) OHAO Conferences. A 10% discount will be applied to the total amount for a final cost of $409.50 plus tax.

    HOW LONG IS IT AVAILABLE:

The 2026 Education Package will be available to purchase from December 1 2025 through January 30, 2026.

    HOW DOES IT WORK:

    • You will receive a notification to pay your 2026 renewal fee via email - do not pay the renewal fee.
    • Go to the Events page and choose the Education Package from the Events options.  Purchase the Education Package.  When an Education Package is purchased we will update your membership renewal in the back end of the system.
    • NOTE: There will be two Education Packages this year - one for people who are renewing from 2025 at a reduced rate because of an overcharge last year, and one for new people signing up for the package for 2026.
    • PLEASE NOTE: You will still need to register for the Conferences when registration opens but will be provided a code so you do not have to pay the registration fee.
    QUESTIONS:
    • Why are the PDCs not included as an option? The PDC prices change depending on speaker and material costs whereas the conference rates remain the same.
    • What if I cannot attend one of the Conferences?  We cannot offer refunds but you are welcome to send a substitute colleague or co-worker in your place.
    • What are the 2026 event dates? Currently the dates for the Spring Conference and AGM is Thursday, March 26 and the Fall Conference is Thursday, October 22.
    • Can someone purchase this package if they are signing up as a new member? Yes, but you will need to complete a membership application first.  When you complete the application choose Offline payment as your payment option and when the Education Package is purchased the membership fee will be zeroed out.
